MacBook Air (2020)
The MacBook Air with Apple Silicon is a line of Macintosh notebook laptops developed and designed by Apple. First released in 2020, it applies custom-designed systems-on-a-chip (SoC) called the Apple M series. It is currently sold with 13-inch display screens—to be exact, 13.3-inch for Apple M1 models and 13.6-inch for the M2 model. In July 2022, Apple released a redesigned version of the first MacBook Air with an improved Apple M2 chip.
MacBook Pro (2020)
The MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon is the higher-end model of the MacBook family, slightly above the MacBook Air. First introduced in 2020, it runs under the Apple-designed M series systems-on-a-chip (SoC) and is sold in 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch display screens. The first version of the MacBook Pro was similar to its Intel model but included support for USB4 and Wi-Fi 6 technologies. It also has 6K output support to run the Pro Display XDR, a 32-inch flat panel computer monitor designed by Apple. In June 2022, Apple released an improved 13-inch MacBook Pro, which uses the M2 chip.
iMac (2021)
The iMac with Apple Silicon also called the iMac M1, is an all-in-one personal computer developed and designed by Apple. Announced in 2021, it was the first iMac based on the Apple M1 systems-on-a-chip (SoC). It features a 24-inch 4.5K integrated display, a 1080p FaceTime camera, and a six-driver stereo speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos and spatial audio. It supports Wi-Fi 6, USB4/Thunderbolt 3, and 6K output to run the Pro Display XDR. The iMac M1 ships with a Magic Trackpad 2 or Magic Mouse 2 with a color-matching underside.
Mac Mini (2005)
The Mac Mini is a small-form-factor desktop computer developed by Apple Inc. The first Mac Mini was released in 2005 and was based on the PowerPC G4 CPU. Two years later, Apple released the second generation of Mac Mini models; it switched to an Intel Core Solo CPU and featured more improvements in its components and software. In 2020, the fifth generation of the Mac Mini with Apple Silicon was released as a part of Apple’s introduction of the M-based system-on-a-chip family of devices. It featured a fast eight-core CPU, a six times faster GPU, and fifteen times faster machine learning capabilities than its previous 2018 model.
Mac Studio (2022)
Mac Studio is a small-form-factor workstation created and designed by Apple. It’s the high-end version of the Mac lineup and above the Mac Mini and iMac products. It mainly has two ARM-based system-on-a-chip (SoC) models: the M1 Max and the M1 Ultra. It has four Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 ports, two USB 3.0 type-A ports, HDMI with 4K support, and 10Gb Ethernet.
